This amazing plant manages to be both very striking and very low maintenance. Its long dark green leaves are marbled with cream for a very handsome effect. It’s happy in anything from moderate shade to bright, indirect light, so suitable for most homes.
Philodendron cobra looks a little different to most philodendrons. The name philodendron means ‘heart tree’ in Greek because the leaves are usually heart shaped. These are more teardrop shaped, but that doesn’t make them any less beautiful.
Philodendrons are enormously popular as houseplants and come in a wide variety of different shapes and sizes. You’ll find them all over the world, but they’re mostly native to the Americas and West Indies. The reason they’re so popular as houseplants is because they’re very adaptable to different conditions.
This one will be happy in anything from light shade to bright light. It likes its soil to be kept moist, so water it whenever the top two inches of soil feel dry and try not to let it dry out entirely. It will also appreciate a feed once per month in spring and summer.
