  We’re not sure an award for the most stylish watering can exists, but if it did this chic option would be a frontrunner. Big and strong enough to hold five litres of water, but light enough to carry with ease, it’s a lesson in function as well as form. A single, looped handle makes it easier to hold and pour, while a removable rose (the sprinkler bit) lets you choose how to water your leafy pals.

  This watering can is made by Burgon & Ball, a company with a long history of making garden tools. Founded in 1780 in Sheffield, it’s the oldest producer of gardening tools and accessories in the UK.
