  • A particularly rare alocasia, the ‘Dragon Scale’ will be the star of your collection. This unusual plant has distinctly patterned dark green leaves with a metallic sheen that looks a bit like, well, dragon scales. It might almost be as rare as a dragon, but this plant is much lower maintenance.

Native to the forests of Borneo, alocasia ‘Dragon Scale’ enjoys dappled light and bright, indirect sunlight. Behind a sheer curtain or in a sunny room away from the window is the perfect spot. Too much sun will burn the leaves. Water your alocasia thoroughly when the top two inches of soil feel dry and pop them in a humid spot like a bathroom or kitchen. If your plant’s leaves are turning yellow, you might be overwatering. Remove any yellow leaves and let the soil dry out before giving it another drink.

This rare and unusual plant is a spectacular addition to any houseplant collection.

    Did you know?

This plant gets its name from its leaves and their leathery appearance and texture.
